PAPUA NEW GUINEA Eastern Highlands
Papua New Guinea is a relative newcomer to the specialty coffee world, but Baroida Estate has been cultivating these highlands since the 1960s, when Ben Colbran first broke ground here. The plantation sits at around 1,691 meters above sea level, surrounded by former colonial estates and small family-run farms that together tend close to a million trees.
The name "Baroida" comes from a local spirit believed to live in a large river rock that has held its ground through every flood in living memory — immovable, patient, and quietly magnificent. The coffee lives up to its name: Grade A, the highest in PNG's quality system, meaning a full, balanced, clean cup with a rich, distinctive aroma and bright acidity
