Kenya AA Nyeri — Ichuga Station, 1,700 Metres
This AA lot comes from Ichuga Station in Nyeri, where hundreds of smallholder farmers grow coffee on nutrient-rich volcanic soils at 1,700 metres. High altitude, a cool climate, and meticulous washed processing together create the clarity and vivid fruit character Kenya is known for.
After selective handpicking, cherries are sorted, fermented, washed, and dried on raised beds under close supervision. AA refers to the screen size — the largest, densest beans in the lot. The result is a clean, juicy cup with the classic blackcurrant sweetness that made Kenyan coffee famous.

How to Brew It
This one deserves a filter. A V60 or Chemex at 1:16 with water just off the boil gives you the full blackcurrant and cherry lift over a syrupy body. Light roasts are dense, so grind a touch finer than usual and don't rush the pour. AeroPress gives a punchier, more concentrated version.
Choose Your Grind
-
Whole Beans — freshest flavour, grind just before brewing
-
Ground for Filter (Coarse) — ideal for V60, Chemex, or batch brew
-
Ground for AeroPress (Medium) — versatile; works for AeroPress and pour-over
-
Ground for Espresso (Fine) — for a bright, fruit-driven filter-style shot
